I still haven't lost touch with The Four Noble Truths,
nor have I forgotten that I'm a limited human being,
doing the best that I can
with the tools that I've been given.
There is a very encouraging article in this issue of Shambhala Sun,
about how to work with the illusion of failure.
Simply put: If we don't exist,
then the idea of failure isn't even real.
But, if we believe in the dreaded "I",
and carry around stories about how we should have found ways
to become more successful in life,
and if we treat the concept of personal failure seriously,
we will always find ways to make lemonade out of lemons,
which is a good thing.
But the article kept returning to the point that failure isn't real.
Does that mean that the author
was letting underachievers off the hook ?
It's mighty refreshing if he was.
